Our responsibilities

The press office answers questions and arranges interviews on all topics concerning the Federal Office for the Safety of Nuclear Waste Management. These include:

• The search for a final repository for high-level radioactive waste: the procedure, the players and their responsibilities
• Public participation in the search for a final repository
• Significance and background of the German nuclear phase-out
• Nuclear safety
• Research on nuclear waste management, e.g. on Partitioning & Transmutation
• Research on reactor concepts such as "Small Modular Reactors"
• Transport and storage of nuclear fuel

In addition, the press office can provide media representatives with broadcast-quality video footage on topics within the responsibilities of BASE.
